Community involvement is central to all our projects. Through regular meetings with neighbors, local associations, and interest groups, we ensure that local perspectives and concerns are integrated into project development.

A Local Approach
We hold individual meetings with neighbors before starting the local planning process.
Joint information meetings encourage open dialogue, address concerns, and offer tailored solutions.
Once we have reached agreements with both landowners and neighbors, we submit the local plan application to the municipality.
Neighbors are invited to co-invest in the project alongside St. Jørgen and landowners, sharing in the value created. It gives you a direct stake and interest in the project’s future and ensures that, as a local, you become part of the value creation we achieve together.
We establish early contact with local interest groups to ensure environmental and community priorities are considered. We initiate an open dialogue about our projects to ensure that local interests, environmental considerations, and more are taken into account.
Biodiversity
By transitioning from intensive farming to renewable energy, our projects often improve biodiversity. We design projects to coexist with and enhance local ecosystems.
Shelter belt
This is an example of how we integrate biodiversity with the development of our renewable power plants. This solution is an integral part of all our projects and ensures that the view of the green power plants will not visually disturb neighbors or the local community, as it will be characterized by nature rather than technical installations. These solutions are designed in collaboration between landscape architects, Habitats and engineers to ensure the optimal solution.
RE schemes
Denmark’s RE Act, which aims to promote renewable energy, includes the four mentioned schemes for local communities and municipalities in connection with RE projects.
The value loss scheme
The value loss scheme allows citizens to file claims for compensation for the loss of value of their residential property when new renewable energy plants are installed nearby.
Put option scheme
Residential property owners within 6 x the height of the wind turbine or 200 meters from a solar installation can file a claim for a put option through the put option scheme. Upon demand, we enter into an agreement to purchase the property at an agreed price that reflects the market price.
The RE bonus scheme
Residents within 8 x the height of the wind turbine or 200 meters from a solar installation are entitled to an annual tax-free payment throughout its lifetime.
Green Fund (Grøn Pulje)
When installing renewable energy systems, the installer pays a contribution to the municipality, which the municipality can use for initiatives in the local area. The contribution amounts to DKK 125,000 per installed MW for onshore wind turbines and DKK 40,000 per installed MW for photovoltaic installations and thus depends on the size of the installation.
Renewable power plants for the benefit of the environment and local community
St. Jørgen’s renewable power plant in your municipality will play an important role in the production of fossil-free energy that can be deducted directly from the municipality’s carbon footprint. This initiative helps the municipality meet its climate targets for 2030 and 2050.
The renewable power plant has been created with great consideration for the local community. We prioritize integrating the plant harmoniously into the landscape, respecting both the biodiversity and aesthetics of the area.
In addition, the construction of a renewable power plant contributes to local employment opportunities, both for skilled and unskilled workers during the construction and operation phase, while strengthening the local economy. The increased tax revenue from the renewable power plant adds further value to the entire municipality and contributes to growth and development in the area.
Contact us
Are you a landowner who wants to learn more about the possibilities of establishing green energy on your land? Or are you already a landowner or neighbor to one of our power plants? Are you a local politician or part of municipal environment and planning committees/teams? Either way, feel free to contact our project development team with questions or other inquiries.
